Teasing and self confidence

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

If there’s one thing we all know affects your self confidence, it’s being teased. And if there’s one thing we know children are especially bad, for it’s teasing other children. So it’s little wonder that many children end up with hang ups about their looks. Although it’s hardly just children that suffer these taunts, people of all ages can be cruel when it comes to appearances. Things like sticky-out ears, unusual body shapes or prominent noses are just the kind of distinctive bodily features that are likely to get picked on. (more…)

Soap surgery stars

Friday, June 19th, 2009

This week, Kym Marsh came out about just how happy she is with her recent breast lift and I started wondering about UK soap stars. In the US, there’s generally a lot of news about the Hollywood crowd keeping themselves looking the part with a little help from cosmetic surgery, but I think it’s a trend that also replicates on our shores. Jordan and Peter - a step too far

Friday, June 12th, 2009

It looks like the celebrity couple we all thought had found true love together is set to give us one of the messiest splits ever. Jordan, also known as Katie Price, was always determined to make it as a successful glamour model - and that part of her dreams has certainly come true with a little help from several boob jobs along the way. But even though everyone thought their split may have been a publicity stunt when it was announced a few weeks ago, it now seems as though her fairytale romance with Peter Andre is well and truly on the rocks. X-Factor girls back on top

Friday, June 5th, 2009

If watching the highs and lows of Britain’s Got Talent over the last few weeks has made me feel anything - apart from general excitement! - it’s a reminder of how much more I love the X Factor. It’s the perfect show to help you wind down after a jam packed summer and, although the audition stages are the episodes that make me laugh the most, I love that it helps really talented people finally realise their dreams. Reality TV - shifts in cosmetic surgery candidates?

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

I’m a big fan of quite a few reality TV shows - although some are certainly more interesting than others - and I can’t help but read all the gossip about the contestants. Even the ones I am destined to forget as soon as the show is off the air! And recently I noticed something interesting - some shows seem to attract more cosmetic surgery fans than others. (more…)

Signing in their sixties in style

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Growing old, like growing up, might be a scary concept to just about everybody once in a while, but getting older certainly doesn’t mean giving up. Just look at some of the pop stars out there defying popular opinion and wowing us - they’ve still got it and can hold their own against budding starlets. I’m thinking of Cher for definite here - she stepped out in that teeny little black body suit that first drew gasps in back in 1992 this week despite being in her sixties. (more…)

Boob jobs, iPhones and extra winter pounds

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

My mobile phone contract just ran out and, even though I didn’t really mean to, I found myself signing up for a shiny new iPhone! I was a little dubious at first and I spent most of the holiday weekend trying to get to grips with its touchscreen but now I love it. One of the best things about it is how easy it is to get online - I’ve checked my work emails out of work more often than ever over the last few days…

I was also excited to find out how easy it is to read news online on an iPhone, something that has certainly made travelling a lot more entertaining than usual. So I thought I’d share the two stories that really caught my eye. (more…)

Kylie is hailed as a style icon

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Kylie Minogue hasn’t had the easiest time over the last few years, but she’s come through it all with a smile on her face and a spring in her step. And throughout it all her status as a fashion icon and kitsch singing queen has remained un-dented. Just last week Marie Claire ran a piece showing some of her new outfits for this season and she looked sensational as always. (more…)

Putting a surgery plan in place

Monday, April 27th, 2009

A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about how full my schedule has been recently - and it doesn’t look as though it’s set to calm down any time soon! But I shouldn’t be complaining, because not only am I busy doing lots of things I love - like going to the gym with my friend who’s getting married and the rest of the bridesmaids (yes, she asked me to be a bridesmaid too!) - but we’ve even had some gorgeous weather recently. (more…)

Size isn’t always the answer when it comes to boobs

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

I think it’s a shame that when some people think of the words ‘boob job‘ they think of over the top implants favoured by glamour models. Recently, more and more women have come to us looking for natural looking breast implants or lifts. That’s because they want to feel happy with their breast size - and happy doesn’t necessarily mean massive. (more…)
