Boom in ’silver surgery’ patients reported

A new survey has reported a boom in cosmetic surgery operations amongst people aged 45 to 65 years in the UK.

According to the research conducted by the Harley Medical Group, the number of ’silver surgery’ procedures carried out in 2008 doubled, with the majority of respondents citing a second marriage as their primary motivation. (more…)

New European conference on anti-ageing and aesthetic surgery launched

Following the success of similar events in the US, the American Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine (A4M) has launched a European Congress on Anti-Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine (ECAAAM) for September.

The conference, which will take place in Dusseldorf, Germany, is expected to attract cosmetic surgeons from across the continent to discuss the burgeoning demand for anti-ageing surgery and medicine.

Over 90 international experts in anti-ageing and aesthetic procedures will speak at ECAAAM, and professionals will also be given the chance to exhibit their treatments to the delegates. (more…)

Cher’s residency at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas continues to thrive, as do reports that the legendary music diva could have had more cosmetic surgery.

The 62-year-old self-proclaimed “plastic surgery poster girl” announced in February this year that she had signed a deal to perform 200 shows over the course of the next three years, and returned to the stage in May sporting a new, polished face. (more…)
