A woman severely teased about the size and shape of her nose throughout her childhood has shared her new look on life after nose reshaping surgery.
Jan Garrett, 49, endured years of taunts at the hands of cruel bullies. However, the mother of three has announced that her choice to have cosmetic surgery has boosted her confidence and encouraged her to start her life afresh. Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams has teamed up not-for-profit company Dress for Success and Botox-maker Allergan in order to offer career advice to disadvantaged women in the workplace.
The charity campaign, Express Success, aims to empower women in the current job market and Williams attended the launch of the drive in New York City this week. New research has revealed that men and women who fear “appearance-based rejection” are more likely to express an interest in cosmetic surgery.

The United Arab Emirates is the latest region to join the trend of increasing instances of male cosmetic surgery.
Like the UK and the USA, more and more men in the UAE are turning to cosmetic surgery to change aspects of their appearance with which they are unhappy. According to the Khaleej Times, cosmetologists are reporting that as many as 20 per cent of people undergoing cosmetic surgery procedures are men, a number far higher than the global average of 12 per cent.
